The Narrative Circle: A Toast to Black Women Who Write Our World

is a literary-themed traveling series celebrating the voices, wisdom, and legacies of Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, bell hooks, and Zora Neale Hurston. Co-founded by Nikki and Desiree, the Narrative Circle gatherings are designed for women who are navigating seasons of change, growth, and self-discovery.

 

Each event weaves together the words of our foremothers with communal ritual and creative engagement. Guests are invited to experience a multi-sensory journey—beginning with a welcome toast, followed by affirmations, poetry readings, live music, journaling circles, and storytelling that bridge the past to the present. 

 

Our values—change, power, growth, possibility, and accountability—shape everything we do. The Narrative Circle embodies healing and transformation in motion.

 

With upcoming events in Miami, Nashville, Atlanta, and Orlando, each themed around a legendary Black woman, the series creates unique opportunities for brands and sponsors to align with cultural legacy, community empowerment, and intergenerational impact. Our events aim to promote not only Black women’s literary voices but also the continued creation of brave, joyous spaces where women of color can honor the past, empower the present, and imagine the future together.
